Laragai is situated on Borana Ranch, a 35,000-acre wildlife rich, private, working cattle ranch, 16 miles from the equator, adjacent to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.  It is built on the Mokogodo Escarpment over looking the Northern Frontier.    Over 300 species of birds and a wide diversity of wildlife inhabit this area.

Description

Laragai originally a large family house, has now been made available to visitors.  Grandeur, opulence and splendour describe this sumptuous house – everything is there to ensure you have a totally unforgettable experience.  The house is booked on an exclusive-use basis, which also means that children a re very welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities: Laragai has six spacious guest rooms decorated in a luxurious up-country style. Two rooms have an open fireplace, and all have en suite bathroom with a giant bath and shower.   There also are two children’s rooms with  shared bathroom.  The house features a huge sitting room with fireplace at each end, spacious dining room, decks, a games / TV room, a stunning pool with a magnificent pool house where lunch is served,  and a tennis court.

  • Game drives, and night drives to see the nocturnal birds and animals.
  • Game walks with experienced guides
  • Relax in a ‘blind’ and let the wildlife come to you.

Access: By daily schedule flight from Wilson Airport (Nairobi) to Lewa Downs, by private charter flight direct to the Borana airstrip, or by road from either Nanyuki (2 hours) or Nairobi.
