Pelican House is located within the 90,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy - where a hassle-free safari experience with amazing wildlife viewing on good all-weather roads is guaranteed. The House is an ideal family destination, with access to the many activities offered within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, for weekends or short breaks.

Description

Pelican House is a self catering thatched upcountry cottage. It has an open plan living and dining room with a huge fireplace, and a separate equipped kitchen. The bedrooms open onto the covered veranda and a wooden deck extends out towards the dam and extensive views. The grounds are maintained, a lawn and colorful gardens, but the natural bush habitat surrounds it all.

Accommodation/Facilities: Pelican House has three bedrooms each with a king size bed and soft duvets. Two bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and there is one other washroom. The living area has sofas and large stone fireplace, and the cedar dining table can seat ten guests. Four additional singles beds are available.

Hosted By: The House is staffed with a housekeeper, someone to assist with cooking, a grounds keeper and night watchman. The house is rented on self catering basis, and for an extra daily fee, a cook can be made available. Inclusive in the price is freshly laundered bedding and towels, electricity, hot bath water and boiled / filtered drinking water.

  • Visit the Sweet waters chimpanzee sanctuary
  • Morani Information center and see a Barakka the rhino up close and personal!

Optional Extras: Hire of 4x4 safari vehicle (self drive or with driver), cook, some activities.

Seasons: Open throughout the year.

Access: By Air Kenya or Safari Link to Nanyuki, followed by a road transfer, or by road from Nairobi (3½ hours). The Ol Pejeta Conservancy’s main gate is 14 km from the equator turn off, just before Nanyuki town. Follow the signs. Pelican House is 8km further inside the reserve.
