Sirikoi

Sirikoi is a spectacular game lodge situated on private land surrounded by the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya. Set in a shady acacia grove and overlooking a natural waterhole fed from a mountain spring, Sirikoi offers some of the best game viewing in East Africa.

Description

A private and unique camp that combines luxurious comfort and unmatched wildlife viewing. Evening sundowners with amazing views of distant mountain ranges, delicious meals served under the stars next to a roaring fire and the sounds of animals in camp late at night are just a small part of this magical experience.

Accommodation/Facilities: Sirikoi has a spacious living and dining area, infinity swimming pool and veranda deck which are set within extensive lawns and scattered acacia trees. The camp has four luxury tents, each built on a platform with a private veranda overlooking the waterhole, a living area with a fireplace and an elegant bathroom with a Victorian bath and a shower. There are two further traditional tents with en-suite showers, and two secluded self contained cottages built from wood, stone and thatch.

Owned and Hosted By: Willy and Sue Roberts who have been operating tailor-made safaris throughout East Africa for over thirty years.

Activities:

  • A wide range of activities are offered including:
  • Game drives within Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – home to 70 different species of mammal including the endangered black rhino and Grevy’s zebra.
  • Horse riding for an unparalleled opportunity to get close to wildlife, accompanied by experienced guide.
  • Bush walks in the early morning into the wilderness with a skilled guide, experiencing the sights and sound of the bush:
  • Picnics, sundowners and bush dinners
  • Visits to a local Maasai community to learn about their customs, culture and daily lives
  • Lion Tracking – a few of the lions on Lewa are monitored so that important research information can be collected

Optional Extras:

  • Helicopter and bi-plane trips
  • Fly campin in our specially designed mobile camp which can be set up at remote locations throughout Kenya
  • Trout fishing opportunities on Lake Alice and Lake Michelson, Mount Kenya.

Seasons: Open throughout the year.

Access: By Private air charter, or with the Air Kenya daily air scheduled service direct into the Lewa airfield.
